Find your treatment

Dental technology is always getting better and better. You’ll get the latest orthodontic treatments at McGrory Orthodontics. While metal braces are the most common type of orthodontic treatment, you have several other options. After your first free consultation, Dr. McGrory or Dr. McCarty will talk to you about which treatment would be right for you based on your unique needs and smile goals.

Metal braces

Metal braces

Most patients choose traditional metal braces to straighten their teeth. These orthodontic workhouses have a long history of successful treatment and are great at correcting many oral issues. Metal braces have a reputation for being awkward and obvious, but because of modern orthodontics, you will benefit from versions that are smaller, less conspicuous, and more comfortable than ever before.

Clear braces

Clear braces

Ceramic braces are also referred to as clear braces, tooth-colored braces, or aesthetic braces. Clear braces are a less obvious way to straighten your smile when paired with clear, white, or tooth-colored wires and elastic ties. They’re smaller than ever and made of nearly invisible tooth-colored polycrystalline ceramic material and work the same way metal braces do.

Invisalign®

Invisalign®

Invisalign® and Invisalign® Teen take a modern approach to straightening teeth. It uses a custom-made series of aligners created for you and only you. These aligner trays are made of smooth, comfortable, and virtually invisible plastic that you wear over your teeth.

Fixed vs. removable appliances

It’s important to understand the difference between fixed and removable appliances. Fixed appliances, like braces, are attached to your teeth and aren’t taken off until you complete your treatment.

Removable appliances, like Invisalign’s aligner system, are worn about 20-22 hours a day but can be taken off easily. Aside from the obvious differences, Invisalign aligners are best at treating mild to moderate orthodontic problems. Fixed appliances are generally needed for more serious and comprehensive treatment.
